WMHRA partners with clinical, community, and government agencies that are interested in jointly solving problems to improve social need programs and services
WMRHA does not directly offer health care or social services. We act as a backbone agency to support system level collaboration with those organizations that are serving people experiencing food and housing insecurity.
WMRHA focuses on social determinants of health like housing and homelessness, food, and behavioral health to build a better system that will improve population health.
The West Mountain Region is a geographically distinct area that includes communities along the Colorado River between Eagle and Parachute and along the Roaring Fork River from Aspen to Glenwood Springs. Administratively, it includes Garfield, Pitkin, and Eagle Counties. These communities have much in common and face similar challenges related to living healthily.
WMRHA works with partners to bring in collaborative funding to serve those with social needs. This allows the region to receive more significant funding that supports a system of care. For example WMRHA received a Colorado DOLA Division of Housing Transformational Homelessness Response Grant to serve Eagle, Garfield, and Pitkin Counties supporting four direct service organizations including Catholic Charities, Mind Springs Health, Recovery Resources, and Eagle County Homeless Services. This grant is a three year grant for $2.74 million beginning in 2023.
Yes! We are continuously looking for ways to work in partnership with others so that our work will have as much impact as possible. We work with national and local governments, nonprofits, networks, institutions, and community-based organizations in the three counties in the West Mountain Region . We work with them to increase our effectiveness in advocacy directly and service delivery indirectly.
211 Colorado is a confidential and multilingual service connecting people to vital resources across the state and in your local community. WMRHA has a partnership with 211, we update all resources within our tri-county region so that our community has access to the most recent changes in any organization within our region.
