Services: Parent Mentors seek to build a bridge between Latino families and Roaring Fork School District public schools by volunteering within classrooms to support student learning. Volunteers increase families’ self-confidence, develop leadership, create relationships, learn to navigate the school system, and advocate for children inside the school system. Parent Mentors provide extra support in the classroom particularly for students with English as a second language, and work with small groups to give assistance with literacy and math.
