Make a Difference in the West Region Health System

Our board of directors is composed of regional health organizations who pay dues to WMRHA. Each organization has a seat on the board that is filled by a member of that organization.

The board has strong ties to the regional health care system and serves as strategic and goal setting leadership, community outreach, and as a review body for reports and financials. The board meets monthly and has one 1 retreat each year.

We serve the entire populations of Pitkin, Garfield, and Eagle counties, with special focus on those who are underserved in the current system.

WMHRA is composed of full-time staff and project consultants who function as conveners, project managers, grant writers, and facilitators.

We specialize in forming partnerships via team building, networking and leadership to align diverse interests and more effectively use resources. We advocate for those whose voices may be disconnected from the system that affects them. We work to increase access to health services and support structures for those who need it.

We focus on social determinants of health and spearhead initiatives to solve issues around housing and homelessness, food security and nutrition and cost of living.

Starting with a committed core of system contributors we start with common interests and move towards shared goals, inviting key entities to join the conversation, contribute ideas, and build a path forward towards change.

Our network includes over 175 agency and organizational connections, which include medical, behavioral, governmental and community organization partners.

The organization was created in response to regional challenges of homelessness, food insecurity, cost of living, and access to care.

We solve these problems by identifying and addressing issues in the current system such as inefficiently distributed resources. We align partners with one another to remove redundancy and overlap so everyone's effort can have a greater impact.
