Services: Learn how to pay for long-term care. Free Consultations – Certified Medicaid Planners offer free consultations for those who want to explore their options for paying for long-term care—specifically utilizing Medicaid or VA Aid and Attendance. Completing Applications – Beneficent Case Managers will guide you through the application process, avoiding common mistakes and ensuring success until approval. Lump Sum Report – If a current Medicaid or VA applicant sold a home or received a lump sum of cash and is worried about losing their long-term care benefits, we outline strategies to preserve the cash and retain benefits. Free Learning Events – Complimentary learning events about Medicaid and VA Aid & Attendance benefits for senior care providers and industry partners.

Cost: Free 1-hour consultation. During the consultation, we will discuss our flat fee or provide instructions on how you can qualify for Long-Term Care Medicaid or VA Aid & Attendance, if you want to apply on your own.

Eligibility: Must be over the age of 65 or a disabled adult. An applicant must earn less than $9,000 in monthly income; spouse income is not included. Require assistance with at least 2 activities of daily living – bathing, dressing, eating, or using the toilet. Serves Pitkin, Eagle & Garfield counties.

Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) of the Rockies

Services: One-on-one professional financial counseling to help individuals reduce debt, improve credit, build savings, and strengthen long-term financial habits. Bilingual services (English/Spanish) are available. Counselors can support clients to: Find the Right Bank: Choose the best bank account and build safe banking habits. Take Control of Debt: Create a realistic plan to reduce or eliminate debt. Start Saving: Build emergency and goal-based savings. Build Better Credit: Understand and improve your credit score and history. Manage Your Money: Develop a personalized budget and better financial organization. Achieve Life Goals: Plan and prepare for major milestones like buying a home, going to college, or starting a business. Spanish services.

Cost: All services are 100% free of charge. No fees, insurance, or proof of income required.

High Country Volunteers Tax Assistance Program

Services: Certified IRS volunteers prepare and e-file Federal and State income taxes for individuals and families with incomes less than $67,000. This program runs February through April 15th. Appointments available in Glenwood Springs, Rifle, and Parachute. Spanish services.

Cost: This program is free of charge.

Services: Bilingual Savings Club – help with benefits, including monetary incentives on savings, microloans for emergencies, a personal ambassador, individualized financial coaching sessions, and a multilingual savings app with real-time feedback and goal-setting tools. Spanish services.

Eligibility: Low to moderate income. Serves Pitkin, Eagle & Garfield counties.
