Medride

Services:  24/7 non-emergency medical transportation to appointments and prescription pick-up for Medicaid patients, including wheelchair accessible vans.

Cost: Free to Medicaid patients who have no other means of transportation.

Eligibility: Medicaid enrolled patients traveling to a Medicaid Colorado Provider. Restrictions apply if: Other free transportation options are viable, the traveler is a qualified Medicaid beneficiary, special low income Medicare beneficiary, Medicare Qualifying Individual, has an Old Age Pension – state only, or has Emergency Medicaid and Reproductive Health Plan Coverage.

High Mountain Taxi

Services: Medicaid transportation services in Eagle, Garfield and Pitkin counties for non-emergency medical appointments.

Cost: Typically free for covered medical appointments with 48 hour booking prior to appointment, but can depend on deductible.

Eligibility: People who are covered by Medicaid.

Core Transit ADA Paratransit

Services: Door to door ADA transit by appointment. Routes from Dotsero to Vail and Leadville. All regular Core buses are equipped with ramps or lifts. If a person cannot be served by these adapted buses, then an application can be filled out for door to door service to address other accommodation.

Cost: Fares applicable only if traveling to Gypsum, Eagle County Regional Airport or Leadville.

Eligibility: Serves the Eagle and Lake County are. Anyone can use the transit system.

Smiling Goat Ranch

Services: Equine assisted therapy for anyone with conditions of Autism, PTSD, anxiety, depression, women in recovery, trauma and grief.  The program puts participants into a healing environment using horses and movement-based activities. In these activities, specific movements activate the cerebellum and prefrontal cortex, helping participants achieve emotional regulation, communication and learning.

Cost: Free

Eligibility: Those affected by conditions such as autism, PTSD, anxiety, depression and women in recovery, trauma and grief.

Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center

Services:  Wilderness activity and adaptive ski programming for people with all abilities. Rafting, ropes course, rock climbing, kayaking and more. Individual and group programming, length of course one to multi-day excursions. Tailored programming available. On site lodging available. Extensive internship program and volunteer instructor opportunities available.

Cost: Variable, scholarships available.

Eligibility: All abilities. Serves regional Colorado and beyond.

Services: Summer camp for children 7-17 with life altering medical diagnoses’. Family camp as well.

Cost: Free; application required

Eligibility: Children with any significant medical diagnosis or disability may apply. Located in Gypsum. Serves regional Colorado.

Pueblo Azul Colorado

Services: Peer support and resource sharing in Spanish for parents and caregivers raising children with disabilities. They host monthly meetings (in-person) where parents share experiences, learn about services (Medicaid, health coverage, and more), and connect with other relevant agencies.

Cost: Free

Eligibility: Geared toward Spanish-speaking parents and caregivers in Garfield County raising children with disabilities.

Services: Employment services for individuals with disabilities.

Cost: Free

Eligibility: Call (970) 945-1042 to schedule an appointment/intake or apply online. Must have a disability to be eligible for services. Serves Pitkin, Eagle & Garfield counties.

RFTA Paratransit – The Traveler

Services: Shared-ride transportation to persons who live within the service area in Garfield County and have a disability which prevents them from driving or utilizing public transportation. Must schedule ride 48 hours prior to pick-up. Go to website for further information. Spanish services.

Cost: Free but suggested donation of $2 per ride.

Eligibility: An application and assessment process must be completed in order to determine eligibility. Can apply on website.
