Smiling Goat Ranch

Services: Equine assisted therapy for anyone with conditions of Autism, PTSD, anxiety, depression, women in recovery, trauma and grief.  The program puts participants into a healing environment using horses and movement-based activities. In these activities, specific movements activate the cerebellum and prefrontal cortex, helping participants achieve emotional regulation, communication and learning.

Cost: Free

Eligibility: Those affected by conditions such as autism, PTSD, anxiety, depression and women in recovery, trauma and grief.

Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center

Services:  Wilderness activity and adaptive ski programming for people with all abilities. Rafting, ropes course, rock climbing, kayaking and more. Individual and group programming, length of course one to multi-day excursions. Tailored programming available. On site lodging available. Extensive internship program and volunteer instructor opportunities available.

Cost: Variable, scholarships available.

Eligibility: All abilities. Serves regional Colorado and beyond.

Round Up River Ranch

Services: Summer camp for children 7-17 with life altering medical diagnoses’. Family camp as well.

Cost: Free; application required

Eligibility: Children with any significant medical diagnosis or disability may apply. Located in Gypsum. Serves regional Colorado.

Challenge Aspen

Services: Challenge Aspen Community Programming (Locals) provides adaptive recreation for individuals with disabilities, physical and/or cognitive in the Roaring Fork and Colorado River Valleys. Multi-day regional programming for adults in the Roaring Fork Valley that creates inclusive participation and social opportunities for 8 weeks in the Summer, 6 weeks in the Fall, and 8 weeks in the Winter. Activities include alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, archery, cycling, bowling, etc.

Cost: Summer Daily Drop-in: $35, 2x/Week: $400. Scholarships Available, contact for more information.

Eligibility: All ages, all disabilities. Serves Pitkin, Eagle & Garfield counties.
