Mountain Youth – Prime For Life

Services: Prime For Life is a substance intervention program that is used internationally. It uses tenets of motivational interviewing, connecting clients to their values, low-risk and high-risk behavior around substances, biological vs psychological factors. All this is enveloped in the program showing how their values are at risk around high-risk behavior with substances. From there, if the client decides to make a change, facilitators assist in creating a plan of action for change and support! These three or four group sessions will be held in the evenings, and will be 2 hours each, led by a trained facilitator. Spanish services.

Cost: Free

Eligibility: 14 to 18-year-olds. Serves Eagle County.

Mountain Youth – We Hear U

Services: This free program offered at Mountain Youth has been adapted for the Eagle County community from Active Parenting of Teens, an evidence-based program designed to help families survive and thrive. It focuses on active communication, parenting styles, logical consequences, mutual respect, and more. Spanish services.

Cost: Free

Eligibility: For families referred by a school counselor or other professional referral. Community members can sign up for the program themselves by filling out referral form on the website. Serves Eagle County.

Mountain Youth – Guiding Good Choices

Services: In five or six sessions, parents and caregivers learn specific actions that promote healthy development and reduce risky behavior in the teen years. Home practice and weekly family meetings build family connections and help families apply skills in real life. Guiding Good Choices emphasizes strong family bonds as the key that motivates preteens to follow family guidelines and stay on a course toward better health and educational outcomes as teenagers. Spanish services.

Eligibility: For families of teenagers. Serves Eagle County.

YouthZone

Services: Comprehensive family assessment, juvenile court advocacy, restorative justice programming, substance use education, mental health services, parent support programming. Spanish services.

Cost: $200 for a three- to six-month program, with a sliding scale based on income.

Eligibility: Adjudicated youth and their families, as well as non-adjudicated youth who are exhibiting risky, disruptive, or criminal behavior. Serves Pitkin, Eagle & Garfield counties.
