Services: High Country Volunteers partners with organizations in Garfield and Pitkin counties to offer engaging opportunities for volunteers of all ages to positively impact our community through their time and talents. Eligibility: This program is open to everyone who wants to volunteer. Serves Pitkin, Eagle & Garfield counties.

Services: Parent Mentors seek to build a bridge between Latino families and Roaring Fork School District public schools by volunteering within classrooms to support student learning. Volunteers increase families’ self-confidence, develop leadership, create relationships, learn to navigate the school system, and advocate for children inside the school system. Parent Mentors provide extra support in the classroom particularly for students with English as a second language, and work with small groups to give assistance with literacy and math. Cost: Free

Eligibility: You must be 18 years or older, complete 8 hours of volunteer time per week in a classroom, attend 2 hours of weekly training, complete all necessary paperwork before starting to volunteer, attend the initial program training, complete and pass a background check, and complete the mandatory reporter training within the first month. Serves Pitkin, Eagle & Garfield counties.
