Mountain Youth – Guiding Good Choices

Services: In five or six sessions, parents and caregivers learn specific actions that promote healthy development and reduce risky behavior in the teen years. Home practice and weekly family meetings build family connections and help families apply skills in real life. Guiding Good Choices emphasizes strong family bonds as the key that motivates preteens to follow family guidelines and stay on a course toward better health and educational outcomes as teenagers. Unite For Literacy

Services: Instant access to hundreds of online colorful, nonfiction picture books with easy-to-understand text for emergent readers. Books narrated by native speakers of 60+ languages. The Art Base

Services: Free public art exhibitions; low-cost and scholarship-supported art classes and workshops for all ages; youth afterschool and summer art programs; preschool art classes; community Crafternoons; teen mentorship programs in visual arts (Laura Thorne Sculpture Program and Claudette Carter Art Mentorship); and free community art events.

Cost: Gallery exhibitions and most community events are free. Art classes, workshops, and camps have a registration fee, but full and partial scholarships are available for all programs.

Eligibility: Open to everyone. No membership or residency requirements. Scholarships are available to youth and adults who demonstrate financial need. See website for more information. Serves Pitkin, Eagle & Garfield counties.

Exploremos

Services: Spanish Language Outdoor recreational and educational programs, events and activities for families, children and individuals based in Eagle County. Exploremos is a community group that has bilingual staff dedicated to support each program and works in partnership with more than 30 local organizations.

Cost: Free or at a very reduced rate.

Eligibility: Exploremos programs are for everyone, but some have an age cap depending on the nature of the activity. See website for more information. Serves Eagle County.

TACAW (The Arts Center at Willits)

Services: Performing arts programs, internships for high school and college-age youth interested in the arts (summer), summer camps (summer). Cooking Matters Garfield County

Services: Cooking Matters is offered in Garfield County to inspire families to make healthy, affordable food choices. Registered dietitian nutritionists and volunteers lead cooking and nutrition courses, as well as Cooking Matters store tours. Participants learn how to shop on a budget and cook healthy meals. Classes can take place in person or online through Zoom. Spanish services.

Baby and Me Tobacco Free

Services: Virtual and in-person counseling to help pregnant participants quit smoking, vaping, or using cannabis. Participants are eligible for 4 counseling sessions during their pregnancy and 6 after their baby is born. All client information is privileged and protected under HIPAA, and will not be shared with anyone outside of the program.

Cost: Free, and participants can earn incentives for attending visits. Participants are eligible for $25 at each visit during their pregnancy and $50 at each visit after their baby is born for a potential total of $400 in gift cards!

Eligibility: Must be 36 weeks gestation or less, and must have either: smoked tobacco, used nicotine, or used cannabis at any time during their pregnancy OR smoked tobacco, used nicotine, or used cannabis in the 3 months before getting pregnant. Serves Pitkin, Eagle & Garfield counties.

MotherToBaby Program

Services: MotherToBaby is a free, confidential service that provides evidence-based information on the safety of medications and exposures during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Services include; Personalized risk assessments for medications, vaccines, diseases, chemicals, and other exposures, Support for concerns about alcohol, tobacco, and substance use, Fact sheets on common exposures during pregnancy and lactation, Assistance for individuals, families, and healthcare providers. Spanish services.

Cost: All services are completely free. No insurance, payment, or referral is required.

Eligibility: Anyone who is pregnant, planning to become pregnant, breastfeeding, or supporting someone in these stages (including healthcare providers) can access the services. National Maternal Mental Health Hotline

Services: The National Maternal Mental Health Hotline offers free, confidential, 24/7 support for pregnant and postpartum individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Services include; Emotional support, Information and resources for maternal mental health conditions (e.g., postpartum depression, anxiety), Referrals to local and national mental health providers, Support for partners and family members, Connection to additional resources such as parenting support, financial assistance, and community-based mental health services. Spanish services

Cost: The hotline is completely free of charge. No insurance is needed to access services.

Eligibility: The hotline is open to anyone who is pregnant, postpartum, or a family member seeking support for maternal mental health concerns. No documentation or application is required. Simply call or text to speak with a trained counselor. Serves Pitkin, Eagle & Garfield counties.

The Elephant Circle

Services: Birth Doula Services; Medicaid, low cost and free doulas. Spanish services.

Cost: Clients who have Medicaid can receive services at no cost to them. We also have doulas that can provide services for free or low cost for non-Medicaid clients. Clients who do not have Medicaid should reach out to see what the cost would be for them as it varies widely.

Eligibility: Any pregnant person in Colorado. Serves Pitkin, Eagle & Garfield counties.
